Who we are and which law applies
Lotus Justice & Support Centre CIC is a Community Interest Company registered in the United Kingdom (Company number 17184809). Our services and this website are governed by the law of England and Wales. However, if you are in Romania or another EU member state, EU law also gives you certain rights, set out below.
Your data protection rights in the EU
When we process the personal data of people in the EU, we comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR). You have the same core rights as under UK GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent. To exercise them, see our data request page or write to us by email.
Where EU GDPR requires a UK organisation offering services to people in the EU to appoint an EU representative (Article 27), we periodically review this as our EU activity develops and will publish the representative's details here if and when one is appointed.
Consumer protection (ANPC and ADR)
All our support services are free of charge. If we ever offer a paid service to consumers in Romania, you would have consumer rights under Romanian and EU law.
Note: the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform closed on 20 July 2025 and is no longer available for new complaints. Please use ANPC and an ADR entity in Romania instead.
- ANPC (National Authority for Consumer Protection): anpc.ro
- Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR): Out-of-court resolution through a recognised ADR entity in Romania. ANPC can tell you which entity covers your case.
Support in Romania
If you, a family member or someone close to you needs help in Romania, we can connect you with lawyers, psychologists, social services and trusted organisations in the country. See our Romania page for more.
